Job Description

My client is a leader in their field who supply all major retailers with their products. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Hygiene Manager.

The Hygiene Manager will contribute to, and drive our continuous improvement culture. This opportunity demands enthusiasm and self-motivation and will also require strong leadership, coaching and influencing skills, as well as the ability to communicate at all levels of the business. These key skills should be supported by previous experience of leading a large team of people. A qualification in Health & Safety and experience in Hygiene Management would be an added advantage, however, for this role all applicants who can demonstrate strong people management competencies will be considered.

Duties include:

  • To manage, monitor and improve the hygiene standards across two sites in line with customer and legislative expectations.
  • To manage and motivate a team of hygiene staff ensuing that they are trained to an appropriate level to satisfy both the current and future needs of business.
  • Devise and manage cleaning schedules and cleaning instruction cards to ensure that all equipment is cleaned to the highest standard.
  • Monitor Hygiene standards through internal audits carried out as per schedule.
  • To monitor and manage associated departmental budget including chemical costs, staffing levels and equipment purchases/repair.
  • Control, implement and be responsible for any legislation relating to Health & Safety including Risk Assessment and COSHH assessments.
  • Manage and challenge the use of water during Hygiene activities.
  • Deliver department targets in line with the Company Objectives.
